Synopsis: Epic based on Homer's 'Iliad'. Young, impetuous Paris takes his lover Helen from her Greek husband to his own home in Troy. He is duly followed by the Greek army, led by Achilles. Helen's husband, Menelaus, wants her back, while the king, Agamemnon, is happy to use the opportunity to invade Troy. The Greeks lay siege to the great walled city, and finally gain entry by means of a large wooden horse, apparently left on the shore as a parting gift.
